Hm, interesting ideas of gameplay! And what beautiful graphics!

How will that cube play into it? Is that what you're trying to get?

Quick update.
What outside today, enjoyed the sun & the warm air Smiley

I just spent one hour to tweak the hands of the knight ... the hand, that's a difficult part, no matter I want to draw it o model it ...

The colors are temporary, the final model should be in shiny white chrome.
The dirty aspect should remain, more or less, however...

Any critic or suggestion about the design of this knight is, OF COURSE, warmly welcomed.
I'm quite happy with the boots, the hands, and the general proportions. The helmet, especially from behind, is quite dull at the moment. Maybe I should had some large & colored flair on the top of it. But I'll have to animate the thing, then...

Love the style.

Looks like the back of the knight boots, around the heel/ankle area, could use a little more love and detail.

I really like your texturing on your second pic, but the lighting in your screenshot seems a little... dramatic? I dunno, it seems that the clay texture gets lost a little in the shading. Anyway this looks really interesting, I look forward to playing it :D

I agree with this. Clay is quite matte in color. Both the shadows and the highlights need to be toned down. Other than that it looks great!

As for the knight, the helmet kind of feels out of place. I like the rest of it, but maybe the knight could have a bit more of a Spartan-ish helmet?

I agree with the 2 points mentionned above.

The final rendering (the one in realtime) is too noisy, with too much contrast, that tends to make the image less readable.

I had hard time to control the SSAO, I need to minor it maybe, I'll try that.

Regarding the helmet, well, I initially aimed at a Spartan look, but as I wanted to get a working model asap (even a placeholder), it ended up in that sort of templar-ish helmet Smiley

Besides, Spartan stuff is a bit of a cliché, nowadays Smiley
But I'll give it a try, once again, as soon as I get the GAME working (moving).

Thanks for all the positive & constructive critics ! Kiss

Here's a quick animation test of the Knight (draft model), with a walk cycle I borrowed in my old mocap files  Embarrassed

The model needs modification, the animation is not perfect, but it sort of work.
I just need to get this working in the engine, now Smiley

Looking good, though yeah, you need to iron out that jerky movement there.

Quick WIP.

I finally decided myself regarding the gameplay question. The game will be a straight clone of MetroCross.

I'm finishing the assets and starting to setup a quick level, so that I can start to code that thing.

A real & skilled cg animator should join in, hence the knight animation will look way better than my first tries Smiley

I'll keep you posted.
