I said I was gonna get around to this, but of course, I've been busy with that silly little place outside my window. Anyway, this is the first Music Challenge.

There's no winners in this. Simply applause and praise from your fellow composers.

Each week, I'll post the theme of the week's music. Just make sure you reply with the theme, the name of your music, and the program(s) you used to make your song.

This weeks theme is: A Forest

Be it a dark forest, or a light cheery one, it's your call. Let's get started!

It's pretty terrible, although the first 3-4 seconds sound sort of like a forest to me... It would be awful as a game soundtrack, way too intrusive. Maybe with a softer section after a few loops.
Anyway, doubt I'll finish it, but I post anyway to make yours look better Wink

Software: Musagi, of course.

I couldn't wait, so I kinda got mine done as well.

The Sunlit Forest

Just click the pair of headphones to listen, or click download to do the obvious.

Edit: I used PXTone to make this.

I made one :3 I'm a newb in this, but I think it's cute. I uploaded it into Newgrounds too but since it's my first audio submission I'm not sure you'll be able to check it out at the moment, since it requires some sort of approval. At any rate here's the link: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1900588

Mine is a cheerful, fun forest theme. That's why it's called "Funny Forest" XD

Nice challenge!

Ooh. I like it. It's good to see stuff made with PXTone. It's more versatile than I at first thought.

Keep working at it! I hope to see more submissions!

I like this one, the style reminds me of the music in the cartoon "the mysterious cities of gold"

How about the winner gets to pick the next theme?

I had thought about this, really. But I wanted to make it less competitive and more simply a little fun thing to do each week.

I'm very open to suggestions, though. I mean, anyone can post what they'd like next week to be. And if a lot of people agree with one idea, we should go with it, too.

Nice job guys. Loved listening to all of the entries, looking forward to next thursday.  Smiley

I like the idea of a "non-competitive" music making event. That focuses the competition internally, instead of just externally. As we strive to best ourselves, not just the work of others.

This is fun... For some reason I'm thinking the next theme could be... "chickens".

Does that make any sense to anyone but me?  Undecided

Aside: It might be cool for one of the game dev competitions to be based around a music track. i.e. make a game based on a selected piece of music.

Beh.  Huh?

http://www.konjak.org/foresty_maybe.mp3

Used instruments from a current project. All my "proper" instruments are either gone at the moment or are just crap.
