I'm assuming the challenge is still open? In that case I'd like to submit an update/replacement and ask that you ignore the first one http://www.cyd.liu.se/~tompe573/bforest.mp3The main loop is very short in this one as well, but there's some build-up in the beginning and a proper ending, so it's a little bit less annoying. Still using musagi.

Each week, a theme is selected. Write a song to it and post it here!
I'd like to thank last weeks participants. We had some awesome songs. (Alec especially. He blew us away, haha.)
You know what day it is!
This weeks theme is: A desert

I'd say just get into it, have fun and don't give up easily! My parents put me through piano lessons, and I was in bands 'n choirs... while that stuff probably helps a bit, its not required in any way. The music for Cave Story was awesome, and pixel just put notes together that sounded good to him. Music is such a fluid, personal and immediate art form... everyone should give it a shot.

Last week's turnout wasn't so great, but I thank Alec again for an awesome song.
Let's see if this week can be better.
This week's theme is going to be: The Evil Empire's Factory
Bit of a big name, but I think we could get some interesting entries out of this one.

I think it's great, makes me think of a giant hydroelectric facility or something. I'd love to hear that on a loop!

Its a 4 chanel XM made in milkytracker. The melodic samples are hand drawn.

Here's my contribution for the Empire Factory Theme. The subtext to this piece goes a little something like this: Our heroes have finally made their way through the factory. Suddenly, they encounter a henchman - some lower minion whom they must make it past on their way to the final boss. He leads them on- berates them with words that only anger them towards making their victory all the more complete. He runs away to some other part of the factory and the heroes pursue. This is the music that I envision (in a more concentrated form) for the pursuit of said henchman. New to the forums and TIGSource - hope you like my first contribution I used Sibelius 3 and Garritan Personal Orchestra.

Er, sorry about not posting last thursday, I figured I should give this theme some time, and I'll probably post a new theme this Thursday.

Well, I think it's more of a stylistic difference though I like what I've heard from you here (from everyone in fact) quite a bit. This is a fun little thread you've started up. I'm excited!
