So... is there already one for Flash games?

Yeah, right under 'Mac/Linux'

*Edit* Prehaps we should have a Mobile tag also for iPhone/Android games?

I think we need one for "Browser" though. "Flash" is not really a viable substitute.

any more thoughts about that?

maybe the icon could be something like "<html>"

Could we have these icons ported to the Announcement section too?

I'm not sure if it fits site design, but... Here they are, HTML 5, Unity WebPlayer and mystical "browser" icons:

I don't recognize either of those as icons for browsers.

What's the point of having a generic browser icon if there are already icons for Flash, Java, Unity and HTML5?

for browser apps (non-flash) i would recommend something around "JavaScript" - all the other technologies used are optional and some of them are technically not even html5 (canvas,...) but JavaScript will be in the mix.

There are plenty of web-based games that don't use JavaScript.

Added a "Browser" icon and also removed the outlines from the OS icons.

? Okay I guess if you do super simple games were all the logic is server-side. But otherwise... flash or javascript you need Smiley

There are plenty of plugin based solutions, other than Flash. Like Java applets, Java web-start, Native Client, Silverlight, Unity and Shockwave. (Even though most of those are complete crap Wink)

It is also quite possible to create complex games, based solely on server-side computations. I think many older games fall into this category, where you click links (pictures) and submit text and numbers.

There are also plenty of forum-based games, where the game logic is managed by the people playing. Ranging from simple word games, to complex role-playing. There probably sites built specifically around such games, too.
