Hello!

I've recently set up my game for getting feedback via the flixel forums. I've just gotten some responses recently and I am quite worried. The two testers both got the same error in the exact same location. It's mainly a collision error and I don't know if it causes the game to crash or just freeze. I would appreciate it if you folks did me a small favor here and test it for me. I'm going to check My flashplayer version as well. Since that seems to be the case of where it's coming from. I played through twice and did not encounter any glitches/bugs. Seems to be running as intended.


If I were you, though, I'd change the double-jump mechanic. It seems you can only double-jump if your block is currently moving upwards. Personally, I find double-jumps to be more useful as I'm falling, so maybe that'd be something worth changing.

Looks interesting and I'd like to see the final project when it's complete  Smiley

I didn't notice any errors - maybe you could tell us where in the game the error is said to occur?

Okay. The error occurs in the only trap room. Whenever you get hit by one of the spinning spike traps is what I've been told. Also, about that double jump. I'll look at that for sure. Your supposed to jump a good distance up especially when I start adding larger levels. Did you die at all? And if so, did mind having to reset the game yourself? That was another minor gripe that I got. Thanks again.

I see you found a hidden trap. But, that is part of the game. Did you get any errors at that point though?

Noticed a couple things, not sure if they are the bugs you're looking for:

- I fell into the pit at screen 2, and moved right, and it put me at the title screen.
- I died on the blades, and my box didn't reappear. When I pressed 'c' for help, I saw some black smoke. This made me think that perhaps the twist to the game was that once you're hit, you are invisible except for smoke you can emit. However I discovered that I couldn't really run in this state, so eventually noticed r for reset. When I reset, I was able to figure out fairly quickly the mechanic of seeing the background.
- There is some fuzzy text on the last screen, the last line. I can't remember what it said but it looks like flash is rendering it at pixel.5

Cool concept, like it!

No, I've played the entire game without errors. And the experience has been fun! Smiley

1- Note to self, add reset mechanic to that frame. Yes, it is possible to fall off the edge of the screen and die there. Or should I just block it off altogether?
2- Apparently the reset isn't noticable enough. I need to make that more clear. I have an idea or two but do you have any suggestions?
3- I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong there. I'll have to poke around some more at the flixel forums to see if that's an issue or not.
4- Note to self, try not to sound like an a- when replying to people
5- more or less just for fun, press v at the trap room to play with the particles.

I'm glad you liked the idea! Smiley

(hopefully me and my level designer can put some good platforming together, right now he has the best designs for it. i'd plug them in but I still don't have all my mechanics in yet)

No, I think that your instructions are correctly designed (indeed, I pressed the 'c' key), but now I see that I didn't understand the help. This is what I get when I press 'c' (and I didn't realize that the black circle is denoting an hidden trap).

Hi, I got to the room with the spinning blades. Jump between the first 2 and then it shows a clear path to the exit, However when I get about half way the box explodes for no reason, that I can see.

I like the concept and it looks like it could shape up to be a really interesting game.

Had the same problem, but other than that it seemed fine. I use Linux + Firefox.

I get mega-slowdown whenever I run into spikes.  The framerate goes from 60fps to 6fps.  That's about it so far.

Ok, now I understand! Smiley The black circle "shows" the hidden traps when you're near them. Maybe, I has been influenced by the fact that you're searching for bugs, instead if I were playing it thinking that this is a tested game I could find the sense of the black circle. So, no bugs, compliments for the game!

Okay. Can you guys tell me what version of flahsplayer your using? The flixel users are still getting collision errors. I hope it's just that they're not using the latest. Course I'm still not sure which version I'm using. Is there an easy way to tell?
