That's awesome. I've just been having some fun making sub-pixel messages Smiley

EDIT: In fact, I'm going to try making a sub-pixel rendered game!

And I thought that ClearType was cool.  You need to get rid of the apostrophe at the end, though.

By the way, why hasn't anyone called them out on ripping off our monocles and top hats?  And sticking them on octopuses?  Bad show, indeed!

That's pretty amazing, although I get the feeling that it's only legible because you already know what it says. Try writing out some other text and see if we can make it out!

My brother was able to read the things I made, although my dad wasn't. So I guess it's only of any use if the viewers/players have good eyesight.

Glad people like it :D I'll knock up a program later to generate some more subpixel strings!

How about this?

Make the letters 2 pixels wide, at least you'll be able to make some letters with 2 vertical parts.

EDIT: Oh, I get it. Magenta is a bar on the left and the right. Hm

Oh, WTF, 18+? That's BS. I'll only be a couple of months off, anyway, by the deadline. Guess my dad is going to be entering this competition...

Hrm, $2000 AUD is only like $1,844.20 US.  That's hardly worth it.  So like, nobody bother entering, okay?

I remember using subpixel fonts for DS programming (nethack has to squeeze in those charectors don't you know).

In other word that font is so wicked.  It took me a minute or so but then it clicks.   Kinda like those magic eye things.

Doesn't seem to be a big different. Sure, the time and effort spent in making the game would probably earn much more if used in an actual paying job, but I think that if you're willing to make games for TIGS for no money simply cause you feel like it this could be interesting to work with as well.

I'm only entering if I get an amazing inspiration that I'm certain will get me some kind of prize, and even if it doesn't I'll still have made an awesome game.

It's even less in England - ~£950! I make that every week from my paper round. It's an hour long. On Sundays.
