interesting that there were / are only 300 folders but 391 entrants, but perhaps not all entrants are pc download (some might be mobile phone games / iphone games / etc.)

nobody will really read that huge list anyway (except other indies or people really into indie games), and judges get assigned specific games so the early-list advantage won't matter much
i do wish though that there were an option to display all the games at once rather than 13 pages of 30 at a time (plus a final page with only one entry)

Looks like some sweet games there. Healthy competition. (plus plenty of "this is a rail shooter" or "this is a puzzle platformer with a twist", but never mind.) judges get assigned specific games so the early-list advantage won't matter much
The judges don't necessarily approach the games they're assigned in order either. Last year, one of my judges mentioned in his feedback that mine was the first game he judged (perhaps an odd thing to mention, but there you go), and it happened to start with the twenty-second letter of the alphabet, so it's probably unlikely that he was doing them in order. I guess if you care about marketing there's an advantage to being at the start of the list, because lots of people will look at the first few and go no further. But I'm happy to lurk at the bottom.

I wish there was a plain text list of all entrants. Far easier to read.

Yep, far far far too many games here, and I echo the point about the navigation. Some of the games look sweet, though - Bastion especially (though I haven't got very far through the list). Also, how many times has A New Zero been submitted now?

I thought it was neat that Eres was re-entering SD, it looks like a very promising game and I can't wait for him to finish it. But on reflection, I have to agree with you, googoogjoob - "Enter as many times as you like until you win" doesn't seem very sporting and probably inflates their game counts. Maybe at least, once the game is complete. I mean, I get that a game might not beat the competition one year and be superior than the next year's entries, but... urgh. Seems to turn IGF into a "Best Indie Games of All Time" cumulative list. For the record, I don't have a pony in this race and I probably never will, as I'm allergic to volunteering for beatings and detainment by overzealous American border guards.

For a while, I thought that only completed games should be allowed to enter. As in games that the audience could play as well. Then, I realized what the point of the competition is
