Editor's note says it's a work of satire.
I don't see how it's satire.  It blatantly praises him with no sarcasm at all in its subtext.
Ridiculous.
Edit:  I was wrong about satire, I only got one aspect of it.  I still don't think it's satire though.  It's just a cop out from the editor so they don't get flamed to all hell.

Edit 2:  Okay, I reread the article and realized that I was completely and totally wrong.  Maybe.  I don't really know how to interpret it.  It could either be someone who thinks the man was right, and is writing corny jokes, or wants to call out the people who think the man was right by pretending to be someone who thinks he was right and making corny jokes.
what?

Satire is taking a serious tone to a questionable topic, taking its key tennants to their despicable ends, see: A Modest Proposal.

Satire, sarcasm, trolling have lost any actual meaning with anyone on the internet, because no one pays attention to context. Nowadays I just look and see if they being constructive or just trying to attract attention to themselves and make people angry? As it stands, there are very few people in the game industry worth listening to, and surprisingly its usually the people people say are "trolls" who are trying to see quality new ideas.

Edit: Some people got really upset that the post is compared to A Modest Proposal. I've read it, multiple times, but I hadn't actually read the post. Satire is what is is, and this post is satire but poorly done, unlike A Modest Proposal which of course is a masterpiece. Because of the lack of tact and intention, it was difficult to separate the author's expected reaction from the audience and his own feelings on the issue. Just trying to defend the lovely art of satire.

I don't think people are "attacking" satire, just this particular article which is unfunny, written in poor taste and doesn't satirize anything relevant. It's "pageview journalism" at its absolute worst.

That weird, cold, heavy feeling you get when your body is fighting an impending illness.

I feel like there's ice in my veins

So little funds for space research and fundamental scientific research in general. Have fun comparing USA war budget (or generally any other country) to it's budget for basic scientific research.

So far what the US government has wanted out of NASA lately seem to be along the lines of "We want to to do awesome things like going back to the moon.  But first let's decrease your funding."

No. It's more like the US government said "NASA, we're sorry to say it but we both know it's true: you're stagnating. We're taking away your funding and instead supporting the growth of the new private space industry. On the free market, innovation will thrive."

How is NASA stagnating? Sure, they haven't attained a symbolic milestone like walking on the moon any time recently,  but that's because these milestones are few and far between. But it surely doesn't mean that they're stagnating.

Idk about you, but when I catch a cold, before the illness sets in, my throat gets REALLY FUCKING sore, sometimes to the point where I'll have serious trouble speaking for like half a day. Once the cold actually breaks out, it usually goes away though.

I don't get sick easily, but when I am getting sick I can really feel it, and then it usually is either gone the next day or the real illness hits me.

This getting-sick-period is kind of odd, actually: my legs feel incredibly heavy and crampy, I was dizzy and unsteady all day, and I had a kind of loopy euphoria for a bit.
Generally unpleasant.

Now I'm taking it easy, hoping a long rest will fix me up.
