idk
i went to the most ethnically diverse high school in california (apparently)
it was an almost perfect 25/25/25/25 split between asians, whites, blacks, and latinos
everyone pretty much got along
we weren't race-blind, just... used to having a lot of ethnic diversity
sure there were some jabs at one's heritage, but they were all in jest (most were self-deprecating in nature)
interestingly enough, our city had a very high concentration of interracial children as well (myself included).
looking back, it wasnt such a bad place to be

when the reality is that everyone but white people can be racist and get away with it. You're white and don't kiss black peoples' asses under public scrutiny and you're called racist but when a black guy slanders you for being white well that's just fine and dandy.(doesn't necessarily have to be a black person ofc but that seems to be what Americans are most sensitive over)
this is location dependant also don't you live in whitesville, central california, jack have you even seen a black persontbh im sad you feel this way time to listen to the depressing parts of the big o ost /tears

And ummm... I met sonicblastoise once... he's chinese... does that count? [EDIT] clarifying because I just had an intense discussion with Monster King over how much of an insular spoiled nerd he was convinced I was: I'm against all racism and I was pointing out some retaliatory racism but I did not realize the contrary way I worded it made it sound like I thought life sucked for white people and everyone else had it good. This is totally not what I believe. Also the over-generalization I made was really stupid and even though I meant it in a tongue-in-cheek manner that does not excuse me.

Class today WASN'T canceled, and the professor that sent the letter of cancellation was for a class I dropped out of. Fffffs. Can't be doing things like that. No one has to know.

the discrimination of minorities by the majority happens on a societal level (protip: slurs and violence aren't the only type of racism), whereas the opposite mostly happens on an individual / fringe group level, that's why it's less "bad."

I'm awkwardly race-aware but only in my mind because I don't know what else to do.
I'm not used to having black friends. Friends of mine who have black friends point out their black friend's ethnicity in what's intended to be a funny way and it makes me uncomfortable, only because I don't really know if it's wrong for them to do that or not.
In a perfect world we'd all notice the colors and be able to know it as exactly what it is: color. without the trappings and ornament. it's just color. we're all people.
I live in a pretty super white area. I'd rather live somewhere extremely ethnically diverse just to get my head adjusted and worn out. I want to be oblivious by overexposure. In some situations I think dulling your senses to things can be beautiful in a way.

Games are going out of their way to frustrate me tonight.
I created a party in Legend of Grimrock, giving my mages only one point to a skill, trying to spread them out. Need 2 fire magic points just to cast the first spell, making both my mages absolutely useless, and even unable to collect experience. This lead to the demise of my first party.
Bought a new ship with most of my cash in the story mode of Black Market to prepare for a new line of missions, only to have the next contact give me a better ship, but not the trade in value for mine. The longer I play this game, the more it seems not very well put together.
Damnit, I'm going to go read a book.

the kind where a teacher will get scared and not discipline a student just because they play the race card.
Is it wrong of me to think playing the race card is stupid?
