I always interpreted those 'features for ransom', as JWK put it, as "we can devote resources to this if we have the money for it."

I can't sleep because... I'm not entirely sure, I rarely sleep well. I stayed up all night and now I'm hitting the coffee to pull through the day and crash around midnight.

Elaborate on why that sucks for you.

Mostly because we (our family) never had a problem with paying for health insurance. Yes, it's stupid to go without, but being required to buy the insurance the government allows doesn't rub me right. Being less government-independent, income-wise, was a great feat. Now it's like everyone will have to rely on it or face a fine. If they did something like this for welfare recipients, I wouldn't be whining, but when it affects everyone...

How does your argument even make sense? You have health insurance, you don't need to worry about the bill. If you don't and can't afford it, the government helps you out. If you don't and can afford it, then you are being fucking stupid to put your family's life in needless peril like that and you're lucky that there are some people in the government actually looking out for you.

I agree with the bill. I think everyone, regardless of their income, should have medical assistance when needed. It's cold to not treat a person because said person doesn't have any money to do it.
What is also sad are the Republicans saying on Twitter that they will "move to Canada" because of it. It's plain ironic since Canada has a system like that for years.

I think everyone who has been saying that is joking.

Whoever said that suck at making jokes, then. Although I must admit that I pretty much disagree a couple of times on what some Republicans plan to do/do for the country, so I'm biased.
