This is fantastic! I was just thinking the other day that I would like to see something like this.
And it seems to me like a lot of popular small-studio team names are basically pulled out of a hat to "sound cool" anyway. This generator just streamlines the process.

Question: What is the point of having a studio name if you're just one dude? Are there any advantages to doing so?

Broken Walrus Men Terminal Sad Method Journey Day White Year Pie Wizard Collective
Broken Walrus is pretty great but I think Pie Wizard Collective
wins.

The point is that you sound way better. Which do you like more: "Hey, John Sandoval made this really cool game." or "Hey, the Pie Wizard Collective made this really cool game." Real men choose the second option.

Hmm... What are your guy's production names? I've come up with some over the years, for the inevitable coming of my game developing reknown: - Ink Incorporated
- Infinibit Games
- Fuckchop Studios
- Cynical Studios
- Beaten Path Productions
- Rainy Day Games
The trouble with coming up with studio names is that I'll like it for the first month, then realize how stupid it sounds/get sick of it and change it. Or I'll find out it's already taken. So for now when the credits start up, it's "John Sandoval Presents".

Cat Prince Digital Banana Easy Knight Mine are actually quite good. I love the Cat Prince, though the company will have to focus on Children's games I think.

Some people use a neutral studio name that refers to all games they are involved in, whether it is only them or not.
E.g. Locomalito, which is both the guy and the guy + collaborators.
It's meant to simply be a more co-operative open-ended style of naming.

I'm a philosophy major, and am always asked "philosophy? What are you gonna do with that?" Even by an HR person from Bethesda Softworks at GDC (oh yeah, I was at GDC).
So I'm thinking of naming myself/studio Philosophy Major Studios, just to stick it to 'em. And as a bonus, the acronym is PMS.
Do you guys like that?

I've heard that philosophy is a very good major for going into anything problem-solving related (including computer science).

Speaking as a philosophy major about to graduate, I think that's a hilarious name. Philosophy students are basically on the fast track for law (critical thinking, logical debate), any classics field (analysis and writing), or any computer field (logic, design philosophy), and are in high demand these days. A BA in philosophy now says "I can read well, write well, think well" which is sadly getting rarer these days in the job market.

Hey Hangedman,
I'm glad you think so. Also, it's great to meet another philosophy major. You workin on a game right now?
I'm finishing up my first completed project in Flash tonight.

Yep, RUINS (link in my signature). It's on slow mode at the moment as real life has intervened. Big project.
Anyway, I've been thinking about what I would call my own tiny company if I was to select a name. There's also the possibility of collaborating under a name designed just for that specific collaboration (see: Bit Blot).
Hangedman Design will do for now.

Ah. I didn't notice before because the internet in China has all kinds of odd restrictions. I can't see almost all of the images posted on this forum. Which means I also couldn't see any of the images from RUINS, though from the sound of people's comments, they're great.
Keep on truckin'!

The internet in china has lots and lots of odd restrictions. Lots and lots.
Flying King Collective did it for me. There's something subtly terrifying about the notion.
