This seems more like negligence/stupidity than outright murder to me; she shook her baby to get him to stop crying, not like, strangling it or anything.

This kinda shit really upsets me. Honestly, I think she should get the death penalty. In a way, I can kinda see the positive in that the kid would have probably grown up to be just as messed up as her if he had lived, so maybe it's just natural selection at work.

Perhaps it would be better to end the thread here with: Sure, this is a horrible thing. But it's not the worst thing that's ever happened.

Tragic. But the older story linked to really creeped me out ("South Korean Couple Lets Baby Die While Nurturing Virtual Child").

Well, it's not like the virtual child had the ability to grow up and marry an abusive couch potato former-jock and give up their dreams and die of a cocaine overdose. I think we're all mature enough here to understand the concept of risks and future rewards.

The right part of her face is for playing farmville, the left part is for taking care of the baby.

she "smoked a cigarette to compose herself and then shook him again." I don't care what you guys say, this kind of shit makes me want to throw up. More fuel for my writing I suppose...

She then paused to rape and kill more babies for stress relief before returning to her task of shaking this particular baby to death. Then she did a ton of heroin and played blackjack.
It writes itself.

Guys, I get the feeling that you're all blowing this way out of proportion. I see so many bad parents EVERY DAMN DAY on the public transport in my city, so I can see very easily how something like this happened. in regards to the cigarette break, its likely the baby simply stopped crying whilst she was shaking it, and so she stopped.
I dont condone her actions in any way, shape or form, but I can understand the lead-up. Being a parent is a VERY stressful job, something that I'm sure almost all of us here have no concept of, my parents told me how when I was a baby, there was lots of anti baby shaking publicity, as it was a serious problem; parent shaking the baby's trying to get them to quieten down.
Like I said, I don't condone her actions, but neither do I want to demonise her. She's just a person who made the wrong decision, and its likely she's paid a higher price than we know.

Aw, but we could be getting righteously enraged over this! No, I agree with you. I seriously doubt that she was in a good state of mind when she did this and I seriously doubt even more that she doesn't regret it. She's not some kind of horrible monster (not to say that she shouldn't be fully responsible for everything she did if she doesn't turn out to be completely insane).
