So, what I want to know, is how the black-and white area works. I end up there when digging through a red block. I'm assuming I'm supposed to do something involving the key and the lock, but the key is never in an area I can reach. Usually, they're isolated in the walls.

Look at the formation of the blocks you grow in the world, and the empty space in the black and white area you go into when you're consumed by the black stuff.
You should be able to figure it out from there.
And yaaaaaay demo. I haven't played it much, but as far as I can tell there's nothing new from the SECRET test build I played. Aside from the triple locks, I think.

oh my god there are bugs Especially in HOME LAND WORLD PLACE (yes, there are things you can do there :3 and ashking there is new stuff there although not a whole lot). They'll be fixed eventually.

Kikaru, everyone else is right. Utilize your senses. Take screenshots and compare if you need to ;3

The version of Starseed Pilgrim I uploaded several(?) days ago can be 'completed'.

I had access to about five or six keys, and tons of hearts, after spending more than ten minutes in one run.

EDIT: I made it to another island in the main area, but it took some save file deleting and reloading to get a lucky set of seeds.

You can carry seeds out of the black+white land but you mustn't commit suicide.
Also, for every seed you are loaned on entry, a seed is taken away (if you start at 0, you'll end up at -10 'starseed debt')

So I shouldn't have used the three-key door and I would have earned some seeds.

Debt is strictly temporary.

That is, it goes to zero when you come home.

I am confused; I got a key and opened the lock, but I just end up back at the home place with no seeds, and when I go out again nothing's changed.

Do... do I have to end up with more than 10 seeds or something? That seems like it would take a lot of luck if so.
