I'm not normally a fan of survival horror, but I've heard great things about Amnesia. Is it worth picking up?

I have only played the demo but it was great. I wish it would get a little cheaper so that I could afford it, guess I'll have to wait some months to buy it.

Now Direct2Drive also has a nice indie sale: Trine, Defense Grid and Power of Defense for $2,50, Plants vs. Zombies, Torchlight, The Ball and Osmos for $5, Star Ruler for $6,25 and, hehe, World of Goo for $10:

I picked up Super Meat Boy when it was 50% off. I've only made it to the first boss so far, but I am loving the punishment. I've just been playing it with the keyboard so far, and I really need to get a proper gamepad. I tried hooking up a wireless 360 controller using a Play-N-Charge kit, but no dice. I'll probably have to get my hands on a wired 360 controller.

What is the communication with Valve like concerning these deals? Do they need your agreement for putting your game on sale? There's currently a lot of fuzz about the Super Meat Boy deal, as Team Meat specifically stated they wouldn't want early buyers to feel cheated, which they do now. That makes me wonder if Team Meat even knew about it themselves.

We (Lunar Giant) were contacted by Steam, who asked for our permission to be in the sale.  Now, of course they already had determined what the sale should be at, but still, they made sure it was okay with us before they went ahead with it.

I can't say for sure, but I'd suspect this is how it happened across the board with developers and the Steam holiday sales.  Hope that helps.
