What about Alien Hominid? It's super hard (for me anyway, I can't seem to beat it) but it's also a lot of fun.

Edit:
I really should get to trying out some of the games in the XBLA, could you maybe mark which of them are XBLA and which are XBLIG? (since indie games require gold for some reason, and I can't find enough reason to spend the money for gold)

Actually, XBLIGs do not require Gold. They just (unfortuantely) require you to be online when you start the game (you can go offline again after the game is running). But for that, a Silver account is also fine.

Some XBLIGs I bought myself (which aren't already on the list above), alphabetically:
Clover, a Curious Tale
Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! (great platformer, see also Johnny Platform's Bisquit Romp)
Platypus,
radiangames Fireball,
Soulcaster

And I'm glad that YDAB! is already on the list, so I don't have to pimp my own game... ;-)

on XBLA:
Winterbottom,
and I actually like Lazy Raiders (although I often get motion sickness playing it :-)

I think the XBLA version of Spelunky would count as a promising game still in development.

Yeah, it's unavailable in some countries mainly in Europe. Apparently it's mostly to do with MS being too lazy to get the legal stuff out of the way. I guess it makes sense from a marketing standpoint though, the 360 has a smaller install base in Europe than it does in the US, so the sales from small countries like Austria (where I live) would probably be negligible.

Some of those games are incredibly polished and totally ignored. Some seem to be failed XBLA games.
There are more I ignored whole genres that I don't like (arena, TD,abstract, "art",etc...)

(arena and TD means arena shooter and top down? if you know games from these genres would it be possible to mention them also even though you dont really enjoy them?)

I don't know if you're specifaclly after Indie games but Scott Pilgrim vs The World on XBLA is well worth a playthrough and I think a new DLC is coming out in the next week or two.

If you're after hardcore indie games, that 'I maed a gaem wit zombies in it!1' thing was a chuckle.
