I want to do a front page post about indie game music/soundtracks. What should be featured?

So far I got:

Super Meat Boy Soundtrack
Plants Versus Zombies Soundtrack (out this Monday)
Jeriaska's Music Project

What else?

I absolutely love the music in world of goo!

Amnesia the dark descent has brilliant atmosphere in the music but its not terribly catchy.

Thats all i can think of for now.

Hydorah

There's also a "2-disc CD soundtrack and remix album" in the works.

I'd like to limit the post to more recent games/music projects (this year, at least). Smiley

I'd be happy to pop by and provide updates on aforementioned Jeriaska Project and Hydorah Arrange soundtrack.

Josh Whelchel's works, specifically the epic The Spirit Engine 2 OST and GunGirl 2's rocking soundtrack!

Less recently your own game's soundtrack, Aquaria of course Smiley

Hydorah

Woah, that's cool! I hope some of the songs will be a bit longer for it, because as great as Hydorah's tracks are, they're all a bit short.

I'm on that  Gentleman

I'm on that too!  Gentleman

(totally biased and ego stuff) Don't know how relevant it is since it's not a release but I wrote a post at OxeyeGames.com about the main theme of Cobalt: http://www.oxeyegames.com/cobalt-music-main-theme-of-cobal/ I also released the Kaleidoscope Original Soundtrack but that was REALLY early this year: http://ocremix.org/album/17/kaleidoscope-original-soundtrack

Other recent stuff to write about is:
•C418's collaboration with deadmau5 — http://soundcloud.com/fuckmylife/minecraft-03-c418-and-mau5 , http://soundcloud.com/fuckmylife/minecraft-02-test
•OTHER awesome dannyB soundtracks (some new, some changed to pay-what-you-want) — http://dbsoundworks.bandcamp.com/
•Josh Whelchel has soundtracks up on bandcamp — http://music.jwmusic.org/
•Disasterpeace has soundtracks up on bandcamp — http://disasterpeace.bandcamp.com/
•HyperDuck Music has soundtracks up on bandcamp — http://hyperduckmusicstudios.bandcamp.com/
•the IGF audio jury announcement

and.. uhh... can't come up with more right now but there are some.

Wasn't VVVVVV released this year?

I thought the music was damn catchy.

VVVVVV's a good choice.

I adored Uin's soundtrack. I pull up youtube playthrough videos of Uin at work and leave them running in the background just so I can listen to the music. Seriously.

Also, dunno if this counts because the music is not original but rather is a selection of vintage electronic music, but Space Funeral. I was replaying that today and wound up spending awhile trying to look up the featured artists.

Yeah, I bought PPPPPP just cuz I liked Souleye's stuff so much.  I can't think of any other indie games this year with such good music.

Gee I guess we're coming up on the end of the decade aren't we?

I fourth(?) VVVVVV. Hero Core also had a pretty nice soundtrack.

I liked the soundtracks of Aquaria, World of Goo, and La-Mulana as well, though those were not released this year.

The tunes in AAAAAaaaaaAAAAAaaaaaAAAAA!: A Reckless Disregard for Gravity are pretty good too. And this is a totally unbiased opinion.

Muh pal Brother Android has made some pretty sweet tunes.

I honestly am not a Phologiston fan, but his tracks for Super Crate Box are pretty boss.

As mcc noted, Space Funeral has the best soundtrack, ever. (the hyperbole is only slight here)

this also helps me plot out future "Play This Thing Loud" posts, so thanks doods.

Problem with Space Funeral: Music is both not original (apart from the battle themes?) and unlicensed.

True, I was thinking it should have gotten an honorable mention simply for it's quality.
