She's also a light-skinned African-American with an English accent, but that's another issue entirely.
Depends where she's from. My aunt is from South Africa, a former British colony, and has a thick English accent. The game's dialog, on the other hand, makes me wish my room-mate didn't have a PS3... I thought of that, but it would have been a better choice for her to be honest-to-goodness African. It seems a bit odd that one of the protagonists who happens to be from Africa is also half-white.

Main character of a short 2 level game I made for my Final Year Project was a telekinetic ragdoll. She dresses kinda like a messed up Princess or cutesy goth girl. Though I didn't get around to doing the dialogue or anything, she was meant to be a strong character that wasn't sexaulised, bit more like the creepy little girl archetype except she's not actually a little girl, just kind of short. Her personality is meant to be a little hot blooded, like Cutie Honey(who was sexualised, but in a hilarious way).
That said I don't mind strong female characters that are sexualised in an ironic, like Margery Daw from Shakugan no Shana(if visual novels and the animus based on them count as the Vidya).
I liked the way Sophitia from the original Soul Calibur was a bit more modest than in the later games. I liked her outfit and assertive personality(well she was a bit batshit really).

She falls on not being strong at all, a princess waiting to be rescued. (edit) Fat Princess for PSN(not out yet, I think)

What, no mention of Lyn from Fire Emblem 7 yet? imageI wholeheartedly second this nomination. I am rather fond of Lyn myself, despite there being many more of the female cast.

At first I thought it was a character from Valkyrie Profile, but now I'm not so sure.
Maybe it's from a Final Fantasy offshoot. I know I've seen it somewhere before, like a while ago...

Maybe you've seen some of the other characters that have the same face and body type but a differently coloured hair.
