Is he dancing or walking? If he's walking you might want to make his legs bo back a bit more, but if he's dancing it looks great. Like this bigass dude who's reluctant to get jiggy wit' it so he just does that. :D I'm working on a mockup: This is the gameplan: It'll prob'ly never get made, due to me not having the patience to do graphics for an entire game, much less one of this scale. Still a cool idea, I thought.

actually he was supposed to be walking but sort of a lumpy heavy walk, like his back is really heavy and his feet just slap down, ill try and fix that thanks for the crit Xion. Your mock up looks awesome i would love to play a game like that. I especially love the enemy graphics.

real art looks like the mona lisa or a halo poster and is about being old or having your wife die and sometimes the level goes in reverse

I don't do a lot but everything that I've done recently is on my gge page below. At the moment it's a placeholder tileset and a jumping miner guy. I'm spreading myself over graphics, gameplay and tools all in my spare time at the moment so progress is pretty slow.

I've decided to start making an effort to get good at animating my characters. That's probably where I fall down hardest. So I created a little skeleton guy for a template of a semi-remake (i.e. kinda like it but completely not) of the NES Kung Fu game, funnily enough titled, Kung Fu. So here's a guy punching and kicking and also doing a groovy walk: It's the first time I've used more than 4 frames for a walking animation, I'm so proud of myself. Although I think it needs one more And for reference, here's the original animation attempt: Clunky aye?

You'll find you get a much more natural walk if you make the left arm move in the opposite direction to the left leg. [edit] I mean the right arm and leg. Well, I mean both. The arms should move in step with the opposite leg.
That tunnelly game looks pretty sweet, Adamatomic.

Cheers Anthony, rewired it (and that's the fun of animating in 5 colours, it takes about 5 minutes to change it): So it doesn't turn into a art improvement thread: Some awesome mockups here, and if you don't make a game with those sprites Xion it will make me sad... I could watch that stabby-stab-stab animation for ages... And Evil-Ville, that pic is immense already. It didn't load for me the first time so I didn't understand what people were looking at
