JasonPickering - Not to be nasty but my initial impression from that pic was a shiney green floor, with a bloke behind a desk talking on a telephone, the tentical was some office decoration.

Greek & Watch

That's fantastic!
Also, it reminded me of what I'm doing.

That is, I'm trying to base the bosses and characters I'm making off of mythological/religious/folklore figures. Right now it might not be so obvious.

Thanks everyone!  Grin
Inanipoo: Haha, give my ideas and I'll see if I can convince my coder to help me makes this.
Jason: As of now, they're  just living in my signature, but I think they would look pretty neat in a game.

Olive man?

Just look at the gal-durned filenames if you're so curious, sheesh! Tired
Seriously, though, I'm not going for visual consistency with their stories so much as what they might do in a fight, or even just how the character feels.

My keyboard needs a wolf button.

You type it and it chooses between posting one of three pictures.

Pray you don't get #3.

Not sure about the colors...
a bit (way) dark there, and the spikes are practically invisible, as well as the swinging blades'...arm things.

I agree on the spikes thing. I didn't notice them until Xion mentioned them, and even then I was like, "Spikes? What spikes? Ooohhh, thoooose spikes..." I like the way the whole thing looks a lot though, and I'm not sure I agree on the "too dark" or the swinging-arms comment. I don't disagree though, either. But those spikes should definitely be more apparent.

Generally thing in the foreground (plat-formers and obstacles) are more saturated.
To get a desaturated color, just add a tiny percentage of the color's complementary counterpart.

Playing with a 4-color grey-scale palette that Kramlack created for another game.

Also a monster thingy with weird muscle anatomy...

um so I'm sorry I have no sprites to contribute, but I just found this:

http://silkmilk.tumblr.com/post/1107350072

someone tumbled a piece someone on this forum made, and it's huge..

I dunno if the original artist knows or not, or if the poster was the original artist, but I saw it and thought it was kinda funny.
