Updated an old PA of mine.
Old PA

New PA
Woods still in the making, I left it out, because it's not looking right yet.

I always liked your pirate avatar, but the new one is definitely way better. Awesome Grin

Bones, that's a slick animation.

Secret Santa gift for a guy at Pixelation!

I didn't get anything in return, but, hey that's not the real reason for the season! Merry Christmas, folks!~

I guess this belongs here. Specifically I want feedback on the "Dead" in game menu.

Hmm, it's suppose to be a broken sword. I guess it doesn't look so well? Especielly the blade?

The hilt perspective is too exaggerated, and the fragmented end is too flat.  Also, on the logo, the darker part of the red areas should be more saturated than the bright parts.

It's an improvement, but not there quite yet. The cross-guard suggests a much stronger perspective than is shown on the blade. The further edge (the upper half in the image) should be much narrower accordingly. Also, from our pov, the grip should overlap the pommel, not the other way around. The part where it broke is way to symmetrical and clean, suggests that it's supposed to look like that/was crafted that way, bi-pointed.

On top of that, if it is just a single blade, I'd give a shot at removing that middle black line. When I look at it, I can't help but see two short blades right next to each other.

If that's a blood groove or somesuch, I think you should experiment with different approaches.

Quick edit to show how I think you should tackle shading and detail.

I'm unhappy with the jacket and his foreground arm in general but I'm also busy and lazy Droop

Tips and comments: Black outlines generally look like ass unless they're just used for contrast or you're very talented. I used a darker outline around the whole thing to give the same kind of contrast from the background with softer outlines on the inside, added some detail and made the heads proportions more readable (giving you room for some facial expression if you wish) as well as adding hair and whatnot. I really like the tiny sprites but they could also use the same treatment, getting rid of the black outlines and whatnot.
I really liked your posing of the legs though Smiley

Just open up a canvas and make a few copies, editing where you feel you should.

Welcome to the wide world of pixel art. Beer!
