Hmm, it's suppose to be a broken sword. I guess it doesn't look so well? Especielly the blade?
The blade is out of perspective with the hilt.

Quick edit to show how I think you should tackle shading and detail. wow haha... it took me longer to get the anatomy of that sorted than it took you to take the whole thing and make it 100x better XD are there any guides that you would recommend for pixel art? this was literally a "open paint and start drawing" thing.

http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/ is the best place in the world to learn to pixel, but only if you're serious about it they get all existential about dem clusters and while it's incredibly helpful unless you're serious it can be a little overwhelming, however cheerful they may be. http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/tutorials.asp is a huge list of tutorials, some helpful, some less so. http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm Arne's art tutorial is pretty much standard for learning to do any sort of art, and is interesting regardless of where you plan to go with style and medium. I'm glad you like the edit, it's got some issues I'd iron out if it was "my work" (the left knee, boxy torso, vague arm pose, etc etc etc) but whatever, it was intended as demonstrative of what you should aspire to more than anything. Why sell yourself short?

Yea that confused me a bit. Personally I'm not a fan of the pokemon style at all. Except for Yellow version style sprites.

Designwise they kind of are. I dug up ancient wip, not sure what I was thinking. Or much to my concern, I still remember what I was thinking crystal clear. And can only wonder. Never shown to anybody before I believe, but you're my special someone

Trying my hand at this pixel art thing, which I must say is pretty fun. A good first attempt, in my opinion! If you want some criticism, I suggest making her left leg's knee be more noticable; right now, even though she's supposed to be running, that leg is kinda stiff. Not bad for a first try! anyway: I want to animoot them but im soo lazy )-: Really like the style. Although the red one could possibly be a pokemon, I don't think the green monster looks like one. I also really like that. The face scretching is nice, hahah.

I've actually had that on my hard drive forever. I think ptoing showed it to me. Though the version I have doesn't have those awful pauses on the stretch frames. It totally ruins it for me.

I don't even have a cleaned up version anymore. And it's missing some pretty essential wobble, anticipation and ease-around frames to function properly, so it's hard to really ruin it . And why does ptoing show around silliness like this
