But those things aside, I quite like the design. (gameboy yay!)

Semantics, this is still pixel art guys, and a lovely piece at that. Just because he used oekaki drawing program doesn't take away from the face of limited palette and pixel precision. thanks for the compliments (: My first time posting here! it's not about the program, there isn't that much pixel precision. here and there, yes, but certainly the majority of the image is much less controlled than one expects from pixel art. limited palette is certainly characteristic of pixel art but doesn't make a piece of art a pixel. ergo oekaki. or an unrefined pixel sketch, take your pick.
looks great regardless, little cleanup and you could call it a pure pixel.
so long as I'm here, what's sort of filetypes/size images can we use as an avvy here? I've tried to upload one but it won't let me : (

http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=3247.0Again, with your "theory" using the features of Promotion or even Deluxe Paint isn't pixel art. Get real. This isn't 1983 where you have to use graph paper first before you draw on the computer. This is 2011, there are many ways to create pixel art. Just because you think pixel art is only one way doesn't make your opinion correct. Here's something I did, and I used some fancy brush modes, do you think it's not pixel art? No it isn't. Anyways, this is not the right place to discuss this. Let's continue with regular posting please, before this gets out of hand. so long as I'm here, what's sort of filetypes/size images can we use as an avvy here? I've tried to upload one but it won't let me : (

My theory? K, whatever you say dude. This is obviously an area with plenty of overlap, as pixelart occurs on a cline with oekaki and digital painting, so if you wanna call it pixelart, go right ahead.
thanks green. maybe someday I'll stop lurking here and post something : O

Was doing grass but it turned into a flat plastic tree platform thing. (It's 3/4 view, not sure how obvious that is).
