Was doing grass but it turned into a flat plastic tree platform thing. (It's 3/4 view, not sure how obvious that is).

I'm on a bit of a pixelling binge it seems. Not done any isometric stuff for years.

her dress is messy, was mainly concentrating the rest of it.

You lost the lovely shape of her left eye, screen right with the highres paintover.

posting this solely cuz i dont post enough.

if you really wanna know, they do all have sprites in all 3 directions and there is more of them. i just dont really wanna post all of it cuz they were paid commissions and i dont like posting that stuff.

Im giving a try at making a simple walk animation

how can I improve this? to me it seems that the guy is running instead of walking



man it is so tricky working with that few pixels lol

Relaxing the arms might help, when walking they should be at the guy's side, rather than slightly outstretched.

Did a hi-resify

I was thinking this kind of thing,

if it's meant to be a relaxed walk rather than a march / run. Though it does work fine as it is.

I think the problem with the sideways one is that his feet are never off the ground. When moving forwards his legs should lift up.

Hmm yeah I can see that. I think the high res eye is closer to what I originally imagined though, and it didn't work out in the low res. But her cheeks look puffy anyway, and the high res doesn't add anything to it. It's always hard to escape that 2x filtered look.

The middle frame is still basically a standing position, which never occurs during walking. As in the middle frame of this image the foot that's moving forwards needs to be off the ground.
