Neat coloring style, reminds me of some of the stuff Atnas does. I'd like to see a mockup with these types of colors. A very rough try. Going for some Another World architecture I get mad Heroes of the Lance vibes from this... which is a good thing... it was a state of the art looking game back in the day for the Atari ST/Amiga... Yeah agree with eobet, definite Heroes of the Lance vibe to these. Loved that game back in the day and these are great.

The only thing I would change is the scarf, much more readable, the smaller body is cooler.

Agreed, the small body is really cute and charming! I've added enough to the scarf argument I think I need to shut up now. :I

I do like the new scarf. New body looks too heroic though, I like how fragile the old one seemed. Undecided on hair. On one hand it similarly makes him look more heroic and less like his hair was tended to by his mother this morning before it got roughed up due to ADVENTURE. On the other hand, it's a much more subtle kind of heroic than the larger body.

I always liked him to look fragile, too. I also like the heroic look because it's new to me and is a decent contrast to how he'd look at the start of the game, much wispier. See: But, he's perhaps too bulky, making animations harder to edit. Thus! Compromise.

Yeah, I definitely like the new scarf. As a matter of fact, I thought he had a thick beard this whole time. <.<;;

I'm worried. This is much better than what I usually make, and I don't know if I can keep the quality up (quality being relative, it's still not that great) Also it took me like an hour of editing; ears suck.

Great stuff as always everybody. Trying something different. I like the Hero-build, though you don't usually see main characters with the other build. The second build makes him look like Megaman, which I like. Maybe with a palette swap, you could make him the aged-up or 'super' version of the character? @StepsOverNails - Cool bear doctor - awesome run cycle, too. @Glyph - Nice portrait. Like Joe said, the ears could be moved up slightly. They should basically be a couple of pixels down from the hat line.

Use your imagination. If an whiny androgynous kid who wields an absurdly large key can lock and unlock worlds then a small shy silhouette caricature can slice a world in half with a 25 foot long blade. [EDIT] I liked that purple background so I made another thingy :O
