Watchtower for in game. Work in progress. The shading needs work, and I might go with a different door entirely. Not liking this one.

You should get rid of the banding.

I can't even spot any banding on that.

Man, I love that shade of blue you used on the scarf pietepiet Smiley

Here's some spots where I felt banding was going on. Some spots are worse than others, and I was mostly just being nitpicky. I don't feel the banding hurts the image much though.

Facepalm

As much as I'm a fan of Piet's work, the pixels seem pretty sporadic. I agree with what others have said about the banding, especially on the ear. I don't know what Jackman4242's going for with the foot, or the shell on the lower back, but I agree with a bunch of his other points.

@rivon
No.  Concerned
I like Piet's work and it's a nice looking piece, but that doesn't mean it's without flaw and not to be nitpicked on for the sake of discussion.

@Kramlack
Yeah, those two you pointed out were the two I felt weakest/iffiest about.

We need to get that link stickied on TIGs. I've used it myself to explain banding before, but a lot of people don't know what it is still.

gonna pop in here and say the few of you claiming that banding isn't a thing/doesnt exist remind me of the people on deviantart who defend everything with IT'S JUST THE STYLE!!!!!!!

just because you don't see it as a problem does not mean that it is not a problem. people with more experienced eyes than you can and will see things that you don't - and there is absolutely no problem with critiquing or nitpicking a piece purely for the sake of discussion.
