Some of the more true-to-8bit stuff I've seen here. Excellent work!

gonna pop in here and say the few of you claiming that banding isn't a thing/doesnt exist remind me of the people on deviantart who defend everything with IT'S JUST THE STYLE!!!!!!!

just because you don't see it as a problem does not mean that it is not a problem. people with more experienced eyes than you can and will see things that you don't - and there is absolutely no problem with critiquing or nitpicking a piece purely for the sake of discussion.

Your avatar has jaggies in many places that ultimately detract from the overall quality and polish of the work.

Thanks for the banding tips, dudes. It's something I admit I can rarely catch, only on very severe occassions. Will fix when I get the time

I've read the similar thread on pixelation about fifty times and still didn't know what banding was until just now when I read the one you linked.

LIGHTBULB

So you want to stay away from banding because you want to hide the pixel grid... gotcha. gotcha.

...

but what if I'm a nostalgic idiot and want to point out the grid and exalt it on high?

I don't think that's as much of the problem as it is that banding's effect tends to blur/smush colors together and be generally nasty looking, which I think results in the pixel's resolution looking 'worse'.

Rolling Western up in this bitch.

You should get rid of the banding.
the reason why this banding comment seemed silly to me was because the post was literally one sentence not even trying to assist him. did he point out where it was banding? did it sound like he really cared? often when i see banding discussed here it is not as a means of criticism but as a way of just being critical towards something. if anyone wants to actually try to help someone with banding try to do what Jakman4242 at least attempted.

Pietepiet is a big boy and knows enough about pixelart to do something with a comment like that.
If not, I would have pointed out which parts are particularly bothersome.

And I personally think edits belong in the workshop.

8-bit animations.

On another note, lovely animations. I hope to see more of you in the future.
