What if you made the surface of the water the same shape as the zig-zag on the cliff?

OHHHHHHH You mean the zig zag below the cliff, not the grass.

I agree the water would look better if it had the same zig zag pattern as the cliff. Maybe even keep the top of the water flat but add a white zig zag pattern right under the waters surface, sort of like a shimmer on the top of the water.

I vote for flat water, but with a one-pixel line of animated white on the top.

That or flat water with some transparent sun rays breaking into it. (And I know flat water doesn't have dancing light rays in it, shut up. Tongue )

I don't think there's anything wrong with wavy water. But the transparency thing really bothers me. I think it would work just fine in the context of a larger landscape, but at this scale the water becomes less readable. The cuboid shape in the water looks disconnected from the island due to the contrasting colors, and because of that the water looks like a solid object instead of a fluid mass.

I would decrease the contrast in the water (it should also get darker as depth increases), and raise the crown of the tree above the roof – it's really bugging me that it ends exactly in line with the roof.

Hot damn, lots of nitpickers haha. I agree with the deeper the water, the darker it get. But I made the tree the same size on purpose.

why not use vectors? just a thought:

(its pretty badly done around the house, first time using vectors)

plus then you can make it HUGE

It's good to see you working on something that's not entirely cubes, ninto. However, the shading (or lack of it) on everything makes them look like flat shapes, which is not good. Unless that's what you want, which I doubt.

Agreed. The two darker green patches on the bottom of the picture look like landmasses, but the one in the sky looks like just a patch. I just now realized that it was a 'planetoid' kind of thing. It's still an awesome drawing, though. Smiley
