Sweet Jeebus, PurpleNinja, that's amazing! What a way to make an entrance. ^_^ The hair spikes didn't go they just moved. It's the eyes and the huge boots and the dot rodent nose and mouth. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just how it comes across, since that came up.
That makes sense to me. I'm okay with her looking like a Sonic character, as long as she doesn't look like or can be confused with Sonic himself.

I'm having a lot of trouble with making this shiny crystal orb thing look right. I think I'm getting close but it still looks kinda blah.

Colon Semicolon - That 'bot is oozing with style. Nice work! Less Sonic, more dragon. It's gonna take me a while to replace all of the animation frames. xD; I'm 8 hours in and still not even halfway there... but it'll be worth it. She's a dragon? Needs more snout and teeth.

If he's fine with her looking like a Sonic fan character, I am sure it is totally fine for her to hardly resemble a dragon then.
I actually liked her with the tan arms, because it made her arms more readable, but it's up to you, Strife.

I was about to say I prefer the first and then thernz pointed out the arms. That seals the deal for my preference. I think if you want to get rid of the Sonic comparisons you'd be further ahead reworking the design entirely instead of making tweaks.

One of my friends thinks she resembles a goat more than a dragon... Wouldn't be too bad of a species classification, I suppose. xD How many goat protagonists do you see these days?
Anyway, that's a fair point about the arms. ^_^ I could make them lavender-colored like the mouth area on the second sprite, as well as her legs.

Being red-green colourblind, I would prefer a more explicit colour contrast than that...

Hmm... You mean like so? I'm open to suggestions for color palettes, by the way.

I'm confused by this, because the creature design itself is horrible, but considering that, the skin is sprited very well. The lighting is pretty well done.
