sup everybody, this is half pixel art, half raster graphics. in an attempt to make snes square soft style tiles quickly, I experimented with a hybrid photoshop and true pixel method. I'm fairly happy with the results so far, it's good for things like futuristic interiors(you can probably easily guess which particular game and area these were inspired by XD). still making trees that look like shit! this was my first attempt: *this one is like, 5% pixel art* I know a lot of people don't like this kind of thing but now all I need to do is learn how to rig characters in blender and I can start pre-rendering character sprites in low resolution! *has tomatoes thrown at him*

@swordofkings I don't believe the method really matters that much. it looks really nice and that's the important part. the box with a 'P' on it is obviously a placeholder

Trying my hand at moving parts. First time ever! All hand-made, no rotation or anything.

Looks great, is it a laser crocodile, because I feel like that green ball should shoot a laser?

@thernz: haha, well, ok. looks pretty foul.
@Yomic: the art is very boring to me, I've got to say :/ The silhouettes all read as "blob with appendages" and are just outline around a single colour - the water one has some attempt at lighting but they're very flat and uninteresting. Sorry for being so blunt.

Geti: No, please! That's why I asked for criticism . These are all early stage pets granted, but there will be more the size of the wolf (at least 5) and at least 3 more at a larger size or just more complex art.

Dunno if anyone has done this before, but I had an idea to make a faux-3d interior by looping either side, treating the camera as if it were in the center of a cube. And then I realized I could do this pretty easily with papercraft and a digital camera, so that's my next experiment. C:

C: Wouldn't it work better if you sped it up while going through the middle bits and slowed it down when the corners were in the center? Or maybe vice-versa, I don't know. What you've got is cool so far, anyway <3

Ah, true, you are very right. That seems like something that would be programmed, though, I don't feel like animating that by hand. If I get more graphics together maybe I can find a coder or something. Thanks for the input!

shouldn't the walls be treated more like parts of a sphere than flat surfaces? Like, bulging out in the middle and receding towards the corners, with the items flush to the wall following appropriate perspective?
Mainly the only part that looks right is the transition from studio to kitchen and from dining room to living room. You could probably forgo the bulging and just make things gradually rotate to face inwards towards the nearest corner...?
