Thanks for the tips everyone!!

Here's the "final" version. The real completed version has a lot of the fixes you're probably going to point out such as his head facing the opposite direction after the first swing (looks bizarre now that I look at it) I just don't have time to make another GIF for it since I had to split the hammer and the character into two seperate sprites for the game.

And a huge thanks to, PixelPileDriver (over at Pixelation) he really helped me out big time!

Niiiice. I really need to do more animation- guess I need to learn how to pixel humanoids first, though.

Some super fluid and punchy animation there. Like Ashkin, I feel like my animation experience is lacking. I don't know, it feels like the most tedious part of spriting, so I tend to cut corners.

Thinking about it, I guess it's partly because I'm using the wrong tools, since I have separate programs for making the actual frames and saving animated .gifs.

@Mozzy
The low swing with recoil is delicious! If I may inquire, what project are you working on?  Grin

I suggest investing in the full version of Graphicsgale.

Thanks! I also use graphicsgale, (but the free version doesn't have the gif funtionality) I'm probably not going to upgrade due to a lack of funds. But I'll live.

Thank you! It's actually from a project I've been working on and off for about... 5 years now? It was originally called "Momotaro" But I realized how shitty the graphics were and ended up changing everything including the story and gameplay. So everything is a lot cleaner and more lively. It's taking much, much longer than I thought, but its worth it imo.

This is actually the first image I've shown publicly from it since I started the remake a year ago.

I'm sorry but the timing of the three swings is almost perfectly like that song.

@Mozzy
I seem to recall you having mockups/screenshots of Momotaro on your DeviantArt gallery. If those are anything to judge the game by, I'm really looking forward to a playable version!

Looks good, but I think the colours are starting to look a bit random, and not representative of shading or volume..?

That's cool, are you going to detail the new one a bit more?
