Nice colors. They work really well with such limited detail.

My first 8 frame run animation. Any feedback would be great..would like this to be perfect I think the knees and his head should be further forward. He kinda looks more like he's trotting or shuffling than running. @jiitype - Looks more like a blob made of water. Reminds me of that Wii water-character sliding game (Dewy or something like that?). The outline looks kind of rough - maybe some anti-aliasing would look good.

Is that a satanic corgi steed? Brilliant. Midna looks good too--Very nice idle animation. I made enough changes that I thought it merited one last post. Hopefully this is enough of an improvement to not be reprehensible. I apologize for jumping to defend my work. I recognize that I've got a lot to learn, and many flaws to fix. But it's a lot of unexpected criticism to take in at once, these being what's left of my first sprites. Anyways, I'll stop spamming here. Maybe I'll start a workshop topic soon. But if I post again it won't be until I've a lot more to show, like attack/dodge animations and a crocodile or two. I seem to learn the most from doing. EDIT: And I'm sorry for how long it took to post back. My internet was dead, and the shading rehauls took awhile.

That's a backhanded compliment, but I completely agree. Thank you.

Shouldn't you be using some palette stuff to be able to change colours more easily? My limit experience of pixel art tools is very limited though, I've only paint'd together some awkward things.

the shading rehauls took awhile.
but you only changed like ahh hm. For 8 frames, on 4 perspectives. Also that's the version with slightly improved shading (i.e. minor texture) that you've GIF'd from--I was working change from these, that I posted initially. EDIT: I can't make a GIF that reflects the color changes. I don't think Indexed mode in GIMP will accept that many colors for indexed mode.

Wow I'm pretty new to this whole pixel art thing and I'm still making tons of mistakes myself, but I think I speak for everyone else viewing this page when I say please please please swallow your pride, go back and read Geti's post again. Carefully this time. He gave you loads of good advice which you totally ignored in spectacular fashion. It kind of annoys me that you're not listening to talented people who are taking the time out to genuinely try and help you improve. Swallow my pride? I apologized for what I said earlier, acknowledged I was a complete noob to pixel art and that I had a lot of flaws to reconcile. But if I didn't care I wouldn't have sunk the time I did into changing any of it from the start. "Loads of good advice you totally ignored" is unreasonable to say. I based what changes I did make to the color palette and shading on the responses I got. I'm interested in improving, but if I felt like I could exhaust all my efforts on a sixth reiteration of the sprite then I would start a workshop thread, which I'm not ready to do yet. Jesus. I really do appreciate the feedback that I can take something away from. It's unfounded to say that I don't. EDIT: For complete clarification--again--compare these to the versions I posted last week.

My reply was, [paraphrased] "Oh, yeah, you got me to notice that." So thanks again. EDIT: Although I chose my own colors in lieu of that. I didn't want to blatantly take yours.
