Haha okay, i actually think i might like the flat shading better to be honest. Will have a play around.
And that video is really cool, didn't realise they stretched out that much! Might have to increase the flailing/reaching even more. Wink

I messed with the colors. I hope you don't mind.

It looks awesome, I really like it. I had some troubles with choosing colours to begin with and then I settled on green, it was monochrome to begin with but I like how you gave it varying colours. Thanks mate  Smiley Hand Thumbs Up Right

Hang (push away from ledge to reach out, jumps farther):

Still not sure what to do about the last frame of this hanging animation. His body twists around which means the front leg becomes the back leg and vice versa, but I think it just looks odd when the two legs change colour.

Run and jump (two jumps, one for when moving horizontally, the other for when not):

I see what you're getting at. The shirt colour is a little too different, but I think colouring both the legs a colour somewhere inbetween the two will do the trick. I've also redone frames 2 and 3 a bit to make them read better, and I may lower the contrast just a bit. Hopefully that will do.

I think the arms should go up a higher because that kind of elevation when running demands exaggerated action.



Hunch him down a little while pushing to make it feel like there's some actual force because right now it looks like he's pushing something on ice. I also do suggest making one of his eyes closed while doing this to look like he's putting effort in it.



Look at some Megaman X sprites where he ledges. I think that arm that's not holding the ledge should be tucked in more too his stomach.



I love this! The colors feel really warm and lovely!
