Took me a sec to notice the whole thing was shaped like a crown but when I did it was great.
Does this help show the shape?

Pixel art seems to be some modern rebirth of colorist form rendering, which I think is awesome about those animations, Slow.

Thats pretty neat catguy, though without the background it was rendered on it seems really low contrast and kinda unrefined. The armour design seems like blind sex appeal over functionality too.

Good call on the contrast geti! I viewed it on a midtone background and I agree that it doesnt really pop right on bright backgrounds. I made a version with brighter skin which I prefer.

In terms of costume aesthetics, I mean, guilty, showing a lot of skin is a shortcut I take when I don't want to costume up a whole, practical design. Conans and vampirellas all around. I did try to communicate a character who would dress that way on purpose in the design, with the touches of jewelry and the fancy sleeves -- anty's response is what i was shootin for.

devi im a big fan of that earth, and I dont think the rest of the aesthetic stands very well next to it.

If I look at it closely I see that parts of it are really good, but at a first glance it seems like it's a bit ill-defined. I think it's something with the contrast, it's as if some parts doesn't "pop". Almost as if you've kept it vague because you're a little uncertain about what's actually going on three-dimensionally. For example the left hand, is it grasping something or is that just a fold of the coat behind it?

This might be a personal opinion, but I think the "everything-except-the-eyes-is-abstracted-away face" needs a more cartoony rendering overall, with a much greater head-to-body ratio. In this case the rest of it is so realistic that at first it makes me think "she has an elbow for a face" before I realize what's going on. I'd give her much more defined facial features, with a mouth, perhaps even hinting at a nose. Also I'd drop the rosy cheeks, and make her eyes slant upwards instead of downwards. She looks a bit too timid to be a warrior.

Sorry if I seem harsh - not at all my intention to make you loose your spirit Wink It's just that when I've started writing I continue... It looks cool already, but I'm sure you could make it look even cooler ~

Thanks.  Yeah.  If I revisit this game again, I'll be doing it in higher resolution so I can get better details in the rest of the game as well.  Hand Thumbs Up Right
