On December 2013 I made a pixel sprite. A mini jelly-monster. And I liked it. Now on May 2014, I saw it again. I saw a tragedy. So I modified it. This is the difference: Before: After:

Yeah, the palette they gave you to work with was finicky. Hahaha, that was meant to be a person Concerned
Jeez, those are some fantastic colours! My only crit (perhaps more of a nitpick) would be that maybe there should be a bit of brown on the right side of the tree to just give it some irregularity? Or something of that sort. Out of the two, I prefer the first one though.
Ahh. I don't think a person would leave such a big water trail though, haha. But I guess if you didn't have the trail, it would just be three lone pixels, which wouldn't look very good. Oh really? I can't even bare to look at the first one anymore. I guess it does have more depth though. That's pretty cool. I think making the shading more pronounced on the dark area beneath the canopy could help convey the feeling of depth a bit more. Have more contrast between the light wood and the dark wood could help, as well as a possibly darker shadow color. It looks cool as it is, though!
Ooh yeah, I'll try and add a darker shade to the bottom of the second one's leaves. I'd give it more contrast but it's intended to kinda be in the background of a game. Thanks for the feedback, guys.

Quick update: Tried making different tile sets for different lands, not sure how readable they are or how well they come of as. Currently trying to make various tiles different for each land, such as the villages.

First post, here's a greyscale stealth/action platformer I might actually finish. Using GM8, because I don't have the time to update.

This is the difference: Before: After: I like the technique improvements in the new one, but unless you want your art to look extremely faded/pastel you should up the contrast a bit! But otherwise it's a solid clean-up. I love it.

That's odd, I'm not sure what that's about. It shows up fine on my screen. In other news, here's some dilapidated, mossy ruins I've been working on.

Thanks :D that's about right. Can you tell she has a purple mohawk?
Pixel art is so tricky. I did not intend to make a woman initially, but I deleted a couple of pixels and immediately I saw a woman!

So back to characters now! I'm trying to get them into more "battle-ready" stances rather than just static standing still. Here's my first attempt with the sword'sman with a shield: I'm hoping to eventually make an attack animation sequence as well, but it'll probably be a slow process.

I didn't think of it as a mohawk, but I'm usually not very observant. It does look like one now that you mention it. Anyway, BOMB: Legend of Zelda, that's all I can think of Really great! Looking at the progression of this project has been awesome! For this though, perhaps try doing something with the back of the character? Like, make him slightly hunched over as if he is getting ready to spring up and attack or something (I have no clue what I'm saying). The right leg is a bit wonky looking though, and perhaps the thighs should go down more on the legs? Might just be me though, looks really sweet so far!

Anyway, BOMB: Legend of Zelda, that's all I can think of Really great! Haha, thanks. Yeah, Zelda inspires a lot of my work. very cool but the very end was underwhelming visually, I was expecting a nice splash
better? That looks way more satisfying. Nice work.
