Got a little bored detailing tiles, ended up doing this for a bit longer than expected.

Maybe for a Super Smash Tactics or something. I just made myself sad.

So awesome! Some tactics would be great!

New pixel NES-like stuff for mobile phones:

nice Grin this is definitely not a typical pixel style, it has an unique personality to it that really helps give the characters interesting designs.

I'll be honest and say I like the style more than the usage of pixels

I think a high-res version where there's still an emphasis on 90 degree angles would keep the appeal of the current graphics without having the pixel drawbacks (super jaggy edges on everything that's not 45 degrees)

but I still like it!

Now imagine an entire game animated like that. I wonder how long it'd take to draw all the sprites though...

The animation smoothness reminds me of Boogerman (not the thematic mind you, just how well the animation is done - Boogerman also had some pretty good animation).

Thank you for the kind words, Tigsource people.  I actually worked on sprite games like Earthworm Jim back when they were new and we animated on cave walls.

Amazi-Girl Strikes!

My first thought when seeing that was "ouch, she's gonna ruin her knees if she keeps landing on her heels like that!" (see below). I think that means it's a very convincing animation! Tongue

It is harmful to heel-strike when running?

tried to do a sub pixeling for the eye and failed. It's weird that nothing else tilts anyway.

who are you and why are you such an angry yelly man

edit: w/r/t dumbing of age, the character from the above running animation (which, as mentioned, is very good, and which was discussed + quoted in the post above the one you replied to) is from a webcomic by david willis called Dumbing of Age*

so now you know

*technically speaking, amber o'malley (aka amazi-girl) and her alter ego (amazi-girl) originate from david willis' earlier comic Shortpacked, but for the sake of clarity and relevance, Dumbing of Age is probably her most prominent/notable series

Card layout still in-progress, but I'm having fun with the characters as part of the overall project progresses.
