The pixel art looks great, but that font is impossible to read. Between the blur and the lack of gaps on certain characters (E and the 46 stand out), it looks like a pretty large barrier to playing the game. Fix that up and it looks fantastic, though.

I used layers and filters like gaussian blur and layer blending options. I usually start with pure pixel art but then I add stuff like that to test out how it'd look in-game with lightning effects and so forth.

I wouldn't say the font is impossible to read, but it is hard.

Sweet pixel art, anyway!

@Shoutscion - Looks great! Not too sure about the animation on his body...? Seems like it moves drastically for no reason? Is it supposed to be breathing? I like the color palette and mood you've got, though - looks really slick and clean!

The numbers are only there to make it look more authentic. Due to how the game plays they're insignificant tbh.
edit: scratch that made it all pretty and readable now

also Keops, those rocks are pretty nice! I like the effect they glow has, it makes the whole image seem a little foggy to me, in a good way.

Just a suggestion, but maybe reupload images to imgur or something when you post them here, rather than posting a Twitter image.  The blurring is really noticeable, and is definitely causing some readability issues.

your problem always was total disregard to tone and highlights. All the color values are totally random, which is also worsened by a super low resolution. That weird interface background is entirely disposable and it would make everthing better.

I love your tiny RPG mock-up. Is this a pet project that will be released or just mock-up fun?
Also, glad you like the art :D Thanks for the kind words!

@fortstride, oh! I see. For some reason they arent blurry on my screen at all, so I wasnt sure what people were talking about.
@Cobralad, yikes. noted.
@Keops, yeah I'll be finishing and releasing it for sure, no mock-up. Also you're welcome!
@Senior-X, I love the "splashes" when the ship touches the sides, nice effect! And maybe I should just make a little devlog for it?

Because the :orig suffix is missing from the image:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CWpge_yUkAADv9q.png:orig

Without a suffix the image size is limited to 600px, with the :large suffix the image size is limited to 1024px, with the :orig suffix you get the original image.
