Cute! I love the proportions, although I wish her eye was a little bigger.

This thread has been scaring me; there's stuff in here that's a hundred times better than anything I'll ever do...
I'll share something anyway.

Here are some sprites I put together for "Head in Jar Society", a game I'd like to make eventually but probably won't start working on in earnest for a while yet.
I'm not sure when I became fascinated with the concept of having a game where you controlled a head suspended in a jar of liquid, but in some way or another the idea came to me and stuck. I've wanted to make this game for a pretty long while now. The ideas change rather drastically each time I consider doing it; only the part about heads in jars remains.
Anyhow, enough talk!
Sprites.

Here is the headinjar taking control of some kind of robot:

And here it is by itself with the fluid sloshing around:

I think you guys are starting to get confused by what pixelart is. I'll tell you its not just drawing without auto-aa on. Gentleman

Edit: The doodle/pixelart distinction seems to be tricky sometimes. Where do you draw the line?
You can doodle pixel art, but it would have to be in those pixelicious terms where you're adhering to a certain technique AND finished product. Doodling and pixel art overlap, they're not absolute opposites.
It's like asking what the difference is between expressionism and cubism. Gentleman

Yeah, I think the more pertinent question is "why do you draw the line?"

I like pixel art but I hate pixel art nazism.

just drawing something in paint is not pixel art. The whole point is editing on a pixel level. There's nothing wrong with just calling it art.

I don't really think its being a nazi.  Its not that pixel art is better or anything I dont think anybody thinks that, its just that this thread is specifically for pixel art.  If someone started posting paintings in the photography thread and called them photographs somebody would correct them, I don't think that is nazism.

Justice Stick Equip!

Just a mock-up of a game I'd like to work on based off gameboy specs in term of size and colours (although technically they're whites I think).

It's pretty much just five or six tiles plus a HUD showing off certain aspects such as various items, health bar after loss of HP, and some of the numbers for the score system.

Now if only I had the creativity to come up with character designs.

I think what he meant by Nazism was the clear-cut distinction people make between pixel art and doodling, not saying the thread should only include pixel art.

What you said makes no sense and has no relevance to a pixel art thread.
There is a clear boundary between the two, nuff said.

I think in turn that he was stating that there is a very broad perspective that divides the definition of pixel art, and there is...trust me. This dude Just hates the politics of it all. Am I right?

Though I suggest that if you wish to continue this discussion, that it is done with in the boundary's of a pixel art community like pixeljoint or pixelation. You'll get your full know how there and a lengthy painful discussion.
