the lasers look like

not-lasers
they look more like glowing solid objects tbh

the solid lasers look strangely in-style though, I kinda like it.
What's bothering me is the cast light on the frontmost astronaut guy, it's as if he has a dual-coloured spacesuit. That is the lightning should be more of a rim light.

been working on this for a while, finally finished, read the two links for more information

crits are fine but i'm gonna be really busy but thanks anyways <3
the sky seems really empty to me. i know its space but isn't this some kinda alien battle? needs more ships!

it looks more like his head is being rotated with his body just added on as an afterthought right now

the body is really jumpy and sporadic, try to make that look a bit smoother and it should be good

The attacking is kind of stiff. Maybe move his legs up or something?

I fixed up his arms and feet and I think his body looks a bit smoother. Any other suggestions? I think he looks about done, other than his arms, but maybe color may help. Thanks guys.

This is roughly what I was trying to get done with the new black, white, red style. There would still be more tile pieces (spikes, clouds, various background objects, etc.), but this was the rough look I was trying to create.

Also, I keep making the sprites smaller.  Hand Any KeySad

This looks a little flat at the moment. On the trunk for example all parts of it use all of the colour shades, where one side of it should be more in shadow and not use the brightest shade. Same for the leaves. The blue shade in the leaves initially looked like a pixelling error to me cos it's barely used, would be nice to use it more boldly as a blue uplight.
