I think I fixed some of the problems. Thanks for the crit Ishi, it really helped! alastair jack, i realize the base is pretty big but I dont really mind it. My game is pretty big and I am the only artist working on it so I dont have too much time to get too nitpicky about a single tree. Thanks for taking the time for the comment though i do appreciate any feedback.

That looks fantastically better! I agree, too, that you shouldn't get too caught up in too little of details (which you didn't; if you were to go further, you would be...). Your judgment is great, I think.

Cool work Kramlack, I like it but I wonder if maybe a different shade of white could be easier on the eyes. I guess I would have to see the game in motion. Looks good though. Heres a new tree for some more scenery in my game. Not bad But it's still very flat hehe

The whole point of 2D-graphics is to be flat, no?
It looks fantastic, imo. Show us more of that artstyle!

I really like the trunk! But I think the canopy needs some work.
An idea to bring out some more form: Brighten the areas that would be closer to the viewer, namely the middle area of the canopy. Basically, I'd expand the highlights so it looks more in line with the shading on the trunk (which is fantastic), and maybe even bring the canopy out to the right a little more.

His right foot does something weird when he's facing us.
New Old Is that better? I think the only problem is that the mid tones should be lighter and the highlights should be fewer. I like the structure of the tree though, reminds me of that movie The Fountain for some reason.

The feet are still a bit weird. If you hide the top half of him and just look at the legs, they seem to freeze occasionally rather than smoothly rotate. Ah I see, his feet are pointing at different angles. I've tried editing it a bit to make that come across more throughout the whole animation: Not brilliant but I think that's where the problem lies at least.

The tentacle at the bottom reminds me of Purple Tentacle from "Day of the Tentacle". It's hard to tell what you're going for though, is it a floor or just a random thing of pipes?

Its not so bad, its a good start. I woudnt use those colors for the background, i dont like the tentacles colors and that green next to each other, it looks bad to me. I would experiment with the background color some more. Keep working on it, looks like your starting to get something there.

Maybe something more like this? It's supposed to be floor, I think, or at least some kind of hovering platform.

I find it a bit hard to believe that head is dangling off of that small cord, but it's not like I have to believe it. Maybe it would look neat if the head was hanging on the tentacle or something. Could end up giving a really cryptic monstrous feeling to your piece.
