@JR Hill Thanks, haha, yeah it does look like it's pooping.
@miascugh Good feedback, thanks. I'll have to revisit it sometime and try and address what you mentioned.

Not sure if I'm on an insect kick or what but I thought making a butterfly thing would be fun.

Why can't the world be made of pixel art?

So recently I picked up Siren Blood Curse and fell in love with the survival horror of old all over again after the less then plesent Silent Hill Homecoming, Resident Evil 5, and Alone in the...screw it I can't even pretend that was Survival Horror anymore!

Anyway, since then I've been doodling concept for a horror game that would work on a 2D plane much like Clock Tower. These are what I came up with;

Knowing an uber low resolution Horror game would lack much of the whole Horror thing (which is kind of important) I designed all my characters in low resolution (what I'm most at home with) then doubled their size and went though fleshing them out with more detail.

Oh and damn women for having boobs, it's the one thing in all my years I can't seem to draw right, and I've spent enough time looking at them! Sad

What she lacks in boob, she makes up in cuteness. Good work.

I really like the detail of the color slightly changing in the pants.
It gives it a hidden detail; you feel it but don't really notice it, especially against a background i would asume.

By the way, just a small landscape in pixels:

I wanted the light of the sun to react on the mountains like the first glimp of sunlight shining over the mountains, but it's more like clouds now.

I'm working on a sequelish thing to my Ludum Dare 17 game "Wow, Islands And Stuff!!". The art in that game was all terrible (understandably so, but terrible nonetheless) so I'm working on redoing the character sprites right now.

OLD:

NEW:

I still have a couple kinks with the walk cycle to work out but this is my first real sprite walk cycle ever so I'm pretty proud of myself!

it looks good, but the leg on the left needs to move up a bit as it pulls back.

The big head/small legs and details give it a cool Odin Sphere-esque feeling.

Kiss Kiss Kiss

Indeed.
The color choice and light source feels a bit like that game, too.

Dex, that dragon is boss.
The green seems a bittt saturated, compared to the darkest red on the dragon but I like the overall feel it has.

Re-worked an old self portrait I was working on.
