I hate this thread. it's like a constant reminder of how much I want to be good at pixel art but can't.. ; . ; here's this guy I've been working on anyways. I have no idea what I was doing with the shading; any pointers?

I think that's pretty awesome. Pointers? Nope. I think it's pretty well done!

Trying something pretty low-res. Aaw, she's so cute! =D Anyway, I'm having trouble deciding whether one of my characters should be human or alien: Which one would be better for an anti-villain space pirate?

I think the human character is not evil enough to be a pirate, he comes closer to a hero (blond hear, etc). He looks great though. The Alien looks like a muffin. I would go for the alien and de-muffify him. But making the human more evil is also an option. (scars, grayer skin, etc)

Awesome. Great animation, man. @moosh - I like the style of the guy - he's really simple. I think he could be a little shaded on his stomach region, on the same side as the other shaded parts, but that's basically it (or no shading, which might also be nice). Great job.

Which one would be better for an anti-villain space pirate? In their current state, the alien. But I do feel like the human could use some work -- he looks a little bit more like a disgruntled tween than a guy in some badass space armor. Of course, you don't have to space-marine him up. But he could stand to be more dynamic, at the very least.

With outline, or without? Also, would this style do well for my game?
