Trying something pretty low-res. I can't believe that I missed this one. Obviously I'm a sucker for low-res, and the way her arms sway back and forth adds so much charm. bottom one for running around, top for dash.
I was actually considering that. My friend also suggested tweaking the legs so that they look like their getting closer to the screen somehow, similar to the hands. I'm also going to start a thread in the workshop area so you guys don't have to see my jolly dancing knight every time I make a change. I like you, sir.

Yeah that made me laugh out loud Miguelito Thanks for the nice comments about the anim. After a couple of attempts I've got a run anim, which is basically a copy of one I made a while ago anyway: The framerate's much higher than the walk so I'm not really sure if it fits. And comparing them here, her hair looks way too flimsy in the run so I'll redo it. Anyway, the plan is to work towards a full set of movements to do a platformer controls test with walk, run, jump, crouch, crawl, wall jumping, hanging off ledges, etc. I also messed around with some scenery briefly:

I also messed around with some scenery briefly: Very very very very very tiny bit of feedback: I can see at a glance that your foregrond and background have the exact same value (fancyspeak for bright or dark) - the sea in the background has about the same contrast as the cliffs you're actually walking on. I'd suggest that even when working with colors, you should consider one to be light and one to be dark. Or one to be saturated and the other to be gray-ish. Or one to be sharp and the other to be blurry. Any option goes, but I'd recommend finding some way of helping the eye tell the important and the fancy apart right away.

You need to stop using twitpic to upload these things. The full picture links expire~

I don't mind the high number of frames myself since it looks so fluid, and actually, I think you should consider animating her idle pose a little bit. Maybe her hair could be slowly and lightly blowing in the wind, or something. :3 Up to you, of course. Anyway, I think I need some more feedback. What's the first description that comes into your head when you look at this guy? If it was anything with the word "Megaman" in it, then I'd like to take steps to make his armor look more original/human. I could probably adjust the leg armor for that reason, and maybe the shoulder pads.

I'm afraid it won't be done with a few tweaks - the whole thing just clearly says "Mega Man". The proportions (huge head, huge feet, feminine torso), the face (anime child with some metal parts over it), the concept (kid character in colorful metal parts)... Just roll with it and count it as an hommage.
