Figure it's safe to drop my pixelation SS entry here   Wish I'd had more time to spend on the girls face and a real panorama, but it's the first time I've actually pixelled something that big  too much canvas! Atnas that's some cool stuff! Love the protagonist, nice and smooth :D

@letsap I did a little edit, maybe it will be helpful.  A More scarf-like color.  Another thing you could do is start the game without a scarf and then later he picks one up.

Well, he starts the game with no skin or clothing, if that's what you mean.
Also, by scarf over the bottom of his face I mean in more of a loose, obstructing, "these clothes are way too big for me" way.

The tree feels a little over-shaded in comparison to the rest of the scene, but I like the scene's colors. @letsap - It really isn't that hard to see that it's a scarf, especially if you start the game without one. Besides, the new color looks more like flesh than the original color - the flapping tail adds tremendously, so I don't think that changing so many frames is really necessary. If it is, just release an update for your game once its finished.

  :T Not sure if worth the change to well over two hundred frames of animation. not worth it in my opinion. i never misread the old sprite. the new purple-er colors are nice though. that might be worth the change. up to you.

I'd say if anything stop drawing it against black and instead draw it against some of the tones the character will be laid over in-game. That'll give you a much better idea of the readability of your sprite.(or at least, it'll give us a better idea of it's readability, since you might already be doing that and just not showing it to us, of course)

 I guess this isn't really a proper mockup since it doesn't explicitly have anything to say about the gameplay This is fucking fantastic. I really like the designs and the colours. I do think the dark purple could be more saturated or something though.
