Currently, I'm working on some 8-Bit versions, loosely based off the original Megaman in terms of size and frame numbers. I couldn't find a good way to make the hair 8-bit, so I ballsed out and just made it sort of afro-like.

Just went back to look at these when I posted them in another topic and oh my god. If this was someone else I'd probably say;

"8bit, what? There's too many colours per sprite, and even if you're using layering of sprites, there would be too much unneeded strain on the hardware. Stop calling low-colour art 8bit!"

If anyone goes back in time and see's my younger self, please kill me. Also I dicked around with Ashkin's walls but basically did my own thing annnnnd;

Of course, you could do a lot more tiles to make it really unique and lose the grid but...

Kramlack, that looks fantastic!

In other news JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE HELL IT'S YET ANOTHER THING.

Now, if I were to tell you that I'm making a game, then I'd probably also tell you that these are the main characters for it.

...I'm not saying that, though.

HOWEVER, I am positively more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that I undeniably may or may not be able to tell you that I might be working on a game... maybe.

If I Made a Game, by Lan Auren.

I'm not saying I'm making a game, but if I did, this is how I'd do it.

Seriously, I love these. I could really see them with some incredible sub pixel animation and, and, and, oh my god!  Kiss

Oh Kramlack, my good man. How you flatter me with your kind words!
I might have to do some minor adjustments to the character in blue. Her hair is meant to be beige, but I can't get the colors right.

Anyway, EXPECT ANIMATIONS SOON. I feel like I'm on a roll lately.

@Kramlack - Cool modification.
@Lan Auren - Those are indeed cool characters. I like their style, though I would give them (or at least one of them) more angular facial features. Perhaps the older one(s)?

Soldier Of's sewers are coming along nicely.

Hey that's cool. Smiley I'm no pixel guy, but here's some things to consider ...

(top) avoid aligning parallel bands
(right) be consistent in the width of your outline
(left) i darkened the outline of the button and added a highlight to hopefully make it stand out more

that is great, thank you for your help, that was above and beyond

No worries, it also helps me a lot to analyse other people's work. Smiley

Few colors is called 8-bit? Please, I've heard pixel art in general called the same thing. One magazine called Habbo Hotel's graphics 8-bit. All of my why will be in this jar.

Love this! Dislike the brick tiles (not the shelving).
