I don't know.  I saw the painted version but I like this more.  Something's wrong with his stance/legs.

To me, his legs look like they're leaning.

Actually, after looking at it again, his whole body looks like it's leaning.

New run cycle is basically the old run cycle with better hair and scarf bounce.

Might as well post one of the levels too:

(I could really use some critiquing on this stuff)

I can't figure out what a lot of things in this scene are. They look good visually, but I can't figure out what they are. The green square on the top-right, the pink/green/blue blocks which look like they have little teeth/open mouths on them. Also I think the transition color between the land and water(?) could use some work.

I like it! Very springy.

New run cycle is basically the old run cycle with better hair and scarf bounce.

EDIT: Oh yeah and a hastily built robot boss, too.

Robot boss is awesome. The run cycle's awesome, too, but the scarf really snaps back too much. I think it needs to wave.

@nelson - Awesome duck head. Great animation - I like the bouncing hat.

The green square is the goal where you need to lead all the sheep. Its supposed to just be a different color of grass, so I probably don't need the bright outline...
The pink/green/blue squares are buttons that open the gates of the same color. The symbols are sheep heads (they represent the number of animals that need to stand on them to activate them). I'm not sure how to make that more clear at such a low resolution.
I might try something different with the water.

This is awesome. Alot like effects I am trying to create now. Any tips on how you achieved this animation? What your thought process is and how you go about animating it?

-Dan

My process isn't much to hurray about. I checked some sprite sheets of explosion from other games such as Metal Slug to see how they built up their animations.
Then I tried it myself, started with just white and built up the shape of the explosion in each frame.
When I got something that looked decent animated I added some yellow shading to it.

EDIT: Threw in some nice Sweet Home (NES) music to go along with the image.

Sheepdog game
Man this reminds me of a little gem called sheep for the GBA. Some readability issues like the coloured fence posts taking ages to read as anything that you'd find on a farm, but looks cool nonetheless.
