I'm interested to know if anybody here uses graphicsgale. I've been using i for a year now and i still get very frustrated when fiddling with the transparency options. It can get pretty confusing.

I do. I just ignore it, 1bit trans is fine for pixel anims and I dont use it for anything else. Outputs PNG with alpha which is all i really care about.

For simple 1-bit transparency, before exporting, you can just select a single colour (Selection By Color tool) and go Image -> Make Alpha Channel... and Create From: Current selection.
Pretty simple really.

For 8-bit alpha transparency I find it easiest to just copy the image, make it greyscale and edit it as needed, and then create the alpha channel from that as a final step. You can always use Duplicate Alpha Channel and repeat if you need to edit it later.

I want to see an animated short story (like 30 seconds) with those kind of graphics, Quarry. Make it about hunting and the survival of man or something else entirely. Your pixels make me think of quiet and serene times I spent exploring the forests of my neighborhood when I was a kid.  Kiss

Well, you all are on your lucky day(s) because I'm planning to get this together as a survival game!

P.S: I am horrible at pixelart, it's the charcoal paper overlay that makes it look good

Quarry where did you get the charcoal texture? I try and keep a variety of textures for when I am painting and I was looking for a good paper texture
