@Alec S. - Cool mech. I think the guy doesn't have enough 'pop' compared to the mech. I think he should have an outline too. Tweaked the scanline effect in my side project (and been doing other stuff, too). Old Version:  New Version:  Also trying to place the HUD somewhere out of the way, so that I can have easy multiplayer. It's going to be higher up, toward the player, but do you think that having the health bar / money HUD around the player would be awkward?

depends how you design it. Could be easy and fairly pretty with a holographic "hud" around the player, especially if it has an on/off switch so you can turn it off (or minimise to just HP+ammo) in combat or for screenshots.
New scanlines are much better.

if you're gonna put the hud around the characters definitely do some kind of on/off thing or have it disappear after some time, yeah

@John Sandoval - It does look really smooth, though it seems to me like her left eye is dropping and bouncing. It's that darkest pixel on the end of the hair line that makes me think that.

@SolarLune - game looks great! A disappearing HUD is the way to go, I think. A permanent one next to the player would ruin the appearance somewhat, though if it's for multiplayer only it's less of an issue I suppose.

I think if you're going to have a HUD around the player character, you might want to shrink it. Right now it's 3x the size of the player character, so if it's moving around, the player will feel more like he's controlling a HUD rather than the character.
