You know I'm now gonna add a greasy pompadour item ingame which boosts your charisma but reduces your shooting accuracy when stood infront of a shop window due to your distracting beautiful reflection.

I everyone. I love this thread. I have found a lot of inspiration from the great work here.
I thought I would show off a couple of the bosses from my upcoming game 'Nine Lives'.

It is totally inspired by gargoyles quest. I bloody love that game! The gameplay is very similar. The first world all you can do is run and jump, mario style, but each world you get extra gargoyle-style abilities like shooting, clinging to walls and hovering for a short time.
Yeah, that first boss got a bit murky as I modified palette again and again. It will need a bit of a touch up

@Charybdis: I also have a bit of a problem with the anti-aliasing. Not that it looks bad, but the lack of contour compared to other foreground features make it move to the background - so it looks more like scenery. Basically, I think the use of pictural and paintlery features are mixed inconsistently, causing confusion.
