Left is a better pose, right is the better sprite because of less bs anti-aliasing. However, both of them still beat out the crap that WayForward made, so at least there's that.
what's wrong with AA exactly?

Nothing's wrong with it really, it's just used too often as a crutch, or used in the wrong way. Places that don't need to be anti-aliased get it, and places that actually do, don't. Sometime's it's just used in ridiculous excess, like Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, or the actual Adventure Time game since we're on that subject.
I can maybe understand wanting to use AA for something like Contra or Vania, because those games have a lot of details, but something as simple as Adventure Time really doesn't need it, at the very least, not in the places it's being use right now.

Kramlack: It's pretty mean calling what is likely the work of Konjak, Paul Robertson, Gustav Kilman and co. "crap" just because you disagree with a stylistic decision.

@segiocornaga: The base sprites (such as one frame of an idle) are given to people who are commissioned out like Konjak, Atnas, Paul Robertson, and Gustav Kilman. These 'bases' are the work of other WayForward employees, so as far as I'm concerned it doesn't represent Konjak and co's artistic ability. I'm not saying the animations for the game are bad, in fact, it's what most of those artists really excel at, and it shows in their work on Adventure Time, but the sprites look like awful because the bases they were given were awful, so you don't really have an argument to stand on. Calling it 'style' doesn't excuse awful pixel technique.

@Castle: omg ur so funny, but if you want to reply with snark, that's fine. I'm certainly not saying that I'm the final word on what's good and bad pixel technique, but in the case of WayForward's Adventure Time, it's pretty much clear as day. Most artists I've talked to about it agree that it's pretty bad with anti-aliasing. It's sloppy and it definitely shows.

You have a really poor attitude, friend
Maybe try to approach situations in which you feel you are right with a little humility and good will, and you will find your advice will reach the ears you want them to reach better

@Castle: Humility and good will hardly get the point across a lot of the time. Good luck with that mentality though, you're a better person than I am if you can keep sane here.
