Some simple black/white graphic designs.

I've been trying to make mockups for Roy with some larger areas, but it looks like I might already need to design tiles all over again, cause it doesn't look like the kind of environment I had in mind and I keep losing my ideas when working with it.
I've considered trying to emulate Forstrides style for the tall grass tiles in Traversia since it fits in perfectly with this concept, but I feel like that'd be copying or something and wouldn't be very good on my part, but I may try doing something around that concept or something, cause his grass design really works with the kind of environment and feel I'm going for, but the last thing I'd ever want to resort to is bluntly copying.
Here's an early, unfinished work in progress in which I kind of started going off in a tangent from my original concept and kinda gave up, since I wasn't really feeling it.

(There's a lot of missing parts like a short cliffside and a wide waterfall in the background, explaining the original intent for the gap in the middle, but I never got to making those yet. I can see these tiles being usable, and I feel this kinda works and I could easily use this in a game, but for the specific project I'm making at the moment, I feel it won't quite work so well)

I'm also thinking of making some rocky mountain tiles aside from new grass, but I'm going to look into a lot of different tile designs for other games and such, as well as pictures of mountain sides to get some ideas.

For some reason, I keep imagining this as the tileset of a classic-styled Mega Man game where the sprites are all tiny and cutesy. And that's not a bad thing.
Nice job with the shading!

I ment no offense by it, I love your work! it's just eerily similar to Cellusious. Your style looks like a more improved version of these.
-img-
Sorry for spamming but I thought it would be interesting to compare the styles.

Cellusious shits all over me yo.  Tiger

He uses way more colors than I do and makes way more stuff. Have you seen his critters? Fresh stuff man. Either way, if everyone thinks we have such similar styles then I think proposing a big fat collab between the two of us is only fitting. What do you say Cell, wanna rule the internet with me?  Well, hello there!

@Carrion I really like that, especially the simple details for the main facial features. I always dug using simple cartoony designs to show personality or expression, especially when it contrasts from within a highly detailed piece, but that's just me talking.

Also the colors and a lot of parts of the concept reminds me a lot of the music video for Clark's Herr Barr. It's almost uncanny how many things here make me think of it.

Oh a btw I LOVE that solarlune! Great colors and cool design!

Oh, hah, thanks. Embarrassed I made a demo for it that you can play here (Flash), though the character (my avatar) doesn't really match the world. I envision a Wario's Woods / Metroid mash-up, and my character doesn't really match, though I still like him. Smiley

I think the last one is fine, maybe the first one could use more tweaking than the last one

the last one needs some tweaking
other than a few minor problems that ur probably aware of, the way it disappears at the end makes it kind of look like it's being cut off by something, rather than that its disappearing
